MULTIPLYING DIVINE INVESTMENTS

“To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more. So also, the one with the two talents gained two more. But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money”.  Matthew 25:15-18

Some years ago I was watching a program on Satellite Television of a Prophet from Africa ministering and to be honest I was impressed with what God was using him to do and I told myself it would be nice to minister like him. All of a sudden God dropped this phrase in my heart, "A Prophet is a Prophet not because of the LABEL or TITLE he carries, but because of what Heaven has invested in his life".

Which means you can do what any Prophet does, if you have access to what Heaven has invested in his life. Elisha understood this, that's why he asked for the same investment Heaven had made in the life of Elijah (a double portion of Elijah's spirit). So, the Prophet is a product of Heaven's investment in his life.

When you read “The Parable of the Talents” in Matthew 25: 15 -18, there are two key words that summarize this parable; Capacity and Stewardship.

Your capacity reveals your ability to receive what is given to you; which means what you do not have the capacity for, you are not likely to receive.

While stewardship talks about your ability to utilize and manage the resources entrusted to your care.

The three servants in the parable of the talents had different capacities and exhibited different levels of stewardship; the servant who received five talents got what he had the capacity to receive, the servant who got two talents had the capacity for two talents and not five talents. And the servant who received one talent had the capacity for one talent and that is why he did not get five talents.

So your CAPACITY determines the level of DIVINE INVESTMENTS you attract. The larger your CAPACITY the more DIVINE INVESTMENTS you attract.

INITIAL DIVINE INVESTMENT

God determines what our Initial Capacity is because of the different assignments He has given us. He defined your Initial Capacity and placed in you Heaven's resources as your Initial Divine Investment in line with your destiny assignment. So all the physical abilities, the spiritual graces you were born with, are part of Heaven's Initial Divine Investment in your life.

However, it is your responsibility to discover what you received from Heaven as your Initial Divine Investment and to grow that investment in order to fulfil God’s assignment for your life. Remember, the servant who received five talents grew his Initial Divine Investment to ten talents, while the servant who received two talents grew his Initial Divine Investment to four talents.

How to grow Heaven's Investment in your life,

1. Steward your Initial Divine Investment - use the gifts, talents, skills and abilities you have, no matter how small or ordinary they are and use them well. Joseph started by trying to interpret his own dreams, to interpreting dreams for others around him, to interpreting dreams in the palace. They more you use your gifts, they more they grow. As often as possible, place a demand on the grace of God upon your life.

Heb.5.14, says – “But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of USE have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil”.

Remember this, Good Stewardship multiplies your Divine Investment and increases your level of spiritual influence.

2. Increase your capacity:  When you increase your capacity, you attract more Divine Investments into your life. When you make room in your life for more of the things of God, you attract more of Heaven's Investment into your life.

Some years ago during a Sunday service, God revealed that there was a lady in the service whose hearts’ desire was to be a carrier of His tangible, palpable presence (i.e. people encounter God’s presence anytime they encounter you as you sing, teach or preach) God said He was willing to make that investment in her life but she would need to grow spiritually in order to carry the grace she was asking for. What she asked for was available but she didn't have the capacity to receive it. You know what this implies; Heaven is willing to Invest more in our lives if we are willing to give time and effort to grow spiritually, in order to increase our capacities.

HOW TO INCREASE YOUR CAPACITY

Spend more time feeding your spirit; read the bible, read gospel literature (books, articles), listen to recorded messages or attend seminars, conferences and other church programs.

Spend more time exercising your spirit; through fasting and worship to God with songs.

Associate with people who will add spiritual value to your life (cultivate healthy spiritual relationships). Elisha had Elijah, Timothy had Paul, Paul had Silas and Peter had Jesus.

Have a deliberate spiritual growth plan, set targets for the time you want to spend praying (3hrs daily), reading the bible (5 chapters daily), reading gospel literature (2 chapters daily) and when you read such literature, target subject matters in areas where you desire more growth, for instance to increase your prophetic capacity, read more books on the prophetic. Also, set targets for daily worship sessions (1hr), fasting sessions (2 times a week) and make sure the targets align with your desired level of spiritual capacity or growth.

As you grow spiritually, always make room for upward reviews of your plan such as increasing your prayer time from 3hrs to 5hrs or increasing the chapters of the bible you read every day from 5 chapters to 7 chapters. Remember, any teenager who eats what he or she was eating as a baby will never grow to be an adult mentally, emotionally and physically.

A lot of the prophetic graces, gifts, abilities and impartations we see and desire that are already manifesting in the lives of others, are available for us too. However, we would need to grow spiritually (increase our capacities) in order to receive them.  Heb.5.13, says – “For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe”.

I want to paraphrase that verse to say, “What you eat spiritually influences your spiritual growth and your level of spiritual skill”. I.e. the more you feed yourself spiritually, the more knowledge, skill and experience you acquire in spiritual things including the prophetic.

So feed wisely!!!

PRAYER OF IMPARTATION

In the name of Jesus, receive the grace to multiply and steward Heavens’ Investment in your life.
