BIRTHING A PROPHETIC WORD

 

 

"My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ (the Prophetic Word that became flesh) is formed in you". Galatians 4:19.

Birthing a prophetic word is the process of "watching over" and "bringing forth" the manifestation of the declared prophetic word. It is the process of transforming the intangible prophetic word to its tangible reality.

In 1Kings 18: 1- 45, God gave Elijah a prophetic word for the Israelites that would end three and a half years of rain, he declared the word, but had to spend hours on the floor with his face between his knees in order to 'birth' or 'bring forth' the prophetic word.

According to Jeremiah1:12, there is a process called the "watching over process", where God watches over His word to perform it and I believe He expects us to watch over His word also.

"Then said the Lord to me, you have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it". Jeremiah 1: 12 [AMP]

Birthing a prophetic word involves the following steps;

1) Receive and declare the prophetic word over yourself or others.

2) Pray against hindrances to the fulfilment of the prophetic word (Daniel 10:13)

3) Pray to God with thanksgiving, confessing His revealed word in faith (the prophetic word) and backing it up with relevant scripture (the written word) whilst reminding Him to fulfil the prophetic word.

4) You continuously "watch to see" whilst praying over the prophetic word until you "pray through", or get a confirmation from Heaven that you have "prayed through". For instance, Elijah kept watching and praying until he saw a small cloud in the sky, Daniel kept praying until an angel confirmed his prayers had been answered (Daniel 10:12).

Here are some of the confirmations to watch out for as you pray in the Holy Ghost over every prophetic word you receive:

•  Peace in your spirit

• A subtle restraint in your spirit as you attempt to continue praying

• An inner witness of joy that sometimes erupts into songs of praise or laughter

• A confirmatory word from God in scripture 

• A vision or a mental picture confirming the release of the reality that you have prayed for

Remember, when Elijah got a prophetic word from God for the children of Israel, he didn't fold his hands and go to sleep expecting God to fulfil His word, he persevered in the place of prayer until he saw the physical manifestation of the prophetic word God gave him for Israel.

Be careful not to "abort" or "miscarry" your testimonies by choosing to sleep or fold your hands over the prophetic words you have received from God, rather persevere in the place of prayer over every prophetic word and  "watch over" it, until it is birthed to physical reality.
